Without this information a V-chip miss-operation symptom might be misdiagnosed because the servicer would be unaware that the ID code needs to be set to 0 for the U. S. for proper V chip operation. Precautions In order to use the 10J4014 or any other 10J-4000 series Adapter, you must first equip your Test Jig with a 10J-4000 Impedance Matching System. Ground Test Jig 10J-106, FVS-350 and 10J-4000 Impedance Matcher. Ground negative end of High Voltage Block Resistor Assembly when used. Follow Manufacture's instructions for Safety Related Adjustments. Anode Adapter 711 or 817 is not required on the newer Test Jigs that have a hooded alligator clip at the end of the Anode Cable. Keep all adapters and cables away from the microprocessor. If a resistor or choke is in series with the TV CRT Filament jump the resistor or choke with a 0.5 ohm 5 watt resistor. Sony Drive, Park Ridge, New Jersey 07656 CSV-1 Models: LISTED BELOW No. 220 Subject: Ring Magnets Used To Adjust Horizontal Stat. Date: November 21, 1995 Symptom: (**) In some cases after replacing the CRT, P/N 8-737-753-05 with 8-733-850-05, Horizontal Stat can not be adjusted completely. Reason: The new replacement CRT's do not require the use of the Horizontal Stat control. Horizontal Stat convergence is performed using the Vertical Stat rings. These rings are located at the end of the Yoke closest to the CRTSocket, and should have a Green dot painted on them. The Horizontal Stat control should be turned completely counterclockwise. Solution: Please replace the two Vertical Stat ring magnets with part number 1-452-279-51. Remove the old ring magnets by removing the metal band used to tighten the Yoke to the CRT. Pushing in the two tabs on the Yoke, slip the magnets off the Yoke one at a time. Replace the rings with the ring tabs pointing towards the CRT socket.
