When operating an MDS-MX101 in record mode begin by pressing the FUNCTION button on the J-2501-144-A board. This will set the input function to one other than MD. 4.) The input terminal of the MDS-MX101 becomes an OPTICAL digital input when the function is set to CD and an analog input when VIDEO/TUNER/TAPE is selected.
