Symptom: (F510) The unit will not have audio on the line outputs. The fuse will open and there may be damage to the DC to DC converter. This may happen if there is a voltage drop (12V to 5-7V) within a certain time period. This may be attributed to the electrical load of the vehicle. Solution: Replace the DC to DC converter. Then, add the electrical line filter. This will be installed at the power harness. The customer should be given a copy only of the wiring diagram. This will help him install the filter. NO. The disc will not insert. This symptom does not appear in warm temperatures. At low temperatures the Guide(disc) contracts, and gives pressure to Lever (R), that is attached on chassis (T). Therefore, lever does not move and DISC In switch keeps "on" condition. As a result ,when disc is ejected and the disc is inserted loading motor does not operate. Solution: Cut the pin on the Guide (disc) to prevent it from pressing the lever (R) See the illustration. The Changer will then skip to the next disc. This symptom usually occurs after disc number 5. This may happen due to elevator deviating to lower position, thus, the elevator shaft hits the comb teeth of the chassis, and disc will not load correctly. Solution: For the serial numbers below, this problem can be corrected with re-alignment of the elevator. Please use the following procedure when adjusting the height of the elevator. Do not refer to Service manual adjustment, use this procedure instead. Note: If unit falls within these serial numbers do this adjustment automatically regardless of the problem. Refer to service manual procedure, for units out of serial number range.
