This symptom may occur as the set is warmed up. The capacitor, C632, may have failed due to excessive leakage current. C632 is the filter capacitor for the CRT Heater Voltage Circuit on the D Board. An improved component is available for C632. Solution: C632 will be replaced with an improved part on all units returned for service which do not have a green dot sticker applied to the serial number label. Please complete one of the following correction procedures according to weather the D Board has the -042 Suffix or the -021 Suffix. PROCEDURE FOR D BOARD WITH -042 SUFFIX 1. Remove the Back Cover. Remove 2 screws (Bottom). Release 2 Push on Tabs (Top). 2. Remove D Board rear mounting screws. Remove 3 screws from Video Cable Clamp assembly. Remove 2 screws from the AC input connector. 3. Remove 2 center mounting screws near the sides of the D Board assembly. 4. Remove the Degauss Coil connector (CN601) and Audio Interface (J Board) connector (CN802) from the D Board. 5. Pull out and rotate the D Board assembly so the area beneath the PS converter transformer, T601 is accessible. 7. Unsolder and remove C632 (2 leads). Replace C632 with the new component. Adjust the D614 body position as necessary to insure there is space between D614, C632 and other components including the wire jumpers. 10. Re-install the saved R641. C610 is the AC input rectifier filter capacitor in the D Board main power supply circuit. When S602 is employed as the front panel power On/Off switch and it is switched Off prior to removal of the AC power plug or AC connector assembly. The capacitor C610 discharges with a long time constant. This condition does not occur when S601 is installed as the front panel power On/Off switch. The following countermeasure is required only when the rear cabinet cover and EMI shield are removed to service a unit that employs S602. Solution: Please remove the AC power plug from the main AC supply source or remove the AC connector assembly from the unit prior to switching Off S602. ( This is wrong selection.) CATS_I can not adjust W/B correctly and the unit goes into shut down due to ABL detection. Another problem is changing to wrong colors. After this problem, selecting "420GS_1 “ from the CATS_I Menu. cannot adjust W/B correctly. Download new version monitor data using the DAS MPU functions.
