Upgrading the Firmware • Turn on the player by pressing any button. • The MODE display appears after the introductory display. • Connect the cradle to the AC power adapter and the dedicated USB cable, place the player in the cradle, and connect the cradle to a computer. • "PC Connect" appears on the display. • As soon as the player is detected as an external drive by the computer, create a folder named "FWUPDATED" in the root directory of the hard disc of the player. • Copy the upgrading file "ZEP01_S1050BFT.bin" attached to this document to the folder "FWUPDATED". • Once this upgrading file is successfully written in the "FWUPDATED" folder of the HD player, rename it to "ZEP01.bin". • Disconnect the HD player from the computer by using the USB "unplug or eject hardware" icon on the PC. • Remove the player from the cradle. • Confirm that the MODE display disappears. • Enter the test mode again as explained in point 1 above. • Select "FWupdate" and press the PLAY/STOP button. • "Firmware Update" is displayed. • Select "YES" by using the select control buttons, and press the PLAY/STOP button. • The version is now being upgraded. SOLUTION An upgraded software version has been made available to solve the above problems as well as to accelerate the lamp power-on sequence. • After powering on the lamp, there is a 3s pause. • If the lamp fails to power on, a check is performed every 250ms during 7s. • If the lamp still does not power on, the lamp switches off and pauses for 8s before retrying (maximum three times). During this 8s pause, the LED is blinking twenty times (cycles of 380ms ON and 380ms OFF). Note that this faster LED blinking sequence may cause some confusion with the customer. Confirm the upgrade as explained below. • Turn the MEX-R1 and the monitor on. • On the remote control press the numeric keys "4" (short time) => "5" (short time) => "7" (for more than 2 sec). A beep will sound when the set enters the Verification Mode. • "Version B/E 04.6A" should appear in the upper left corner of the screen. Channel switching is not possible when "Title Display List" is displayed on the screen. 7. During the "Title Repeat" mode, the repeat function will be cancelled when pressing the [Time Display] button. 8. Incorrect display of the JPEG file name when it contains Japanese characters. 9. During slow-motion playback of multi-angle discs, the set may block at the angle changeover point. 10. The "A-B Erase" function will not erase the end part of the title. 11. SOLUTION 1. Unzip the "HX3Gver107.zip" file attached to this document and burn the seven files in the root folder of a CD-R. 2. Upgrade the firmware to version 1.07 as explained below. • Press [EJECT] and place the update disc on the tray. • Close the tray and wait until the LOAD is done. A time indication will appear on the front panel display and a firmware update window will be displayed on the monitor screen. • Select "Yes" by pushing [ENTER] on the remote control. • After about 10 sec., "Verup start" will appear on the front panel display and the update procedure will start. The total update takes around 10 min. to complete. • When the update is completed, "Finish!!" will appear on the front panel display and the disc will be ejected automatically. Remove the disc from the tray. • Press the [POWER] button on the front panel for about 10 sec. until the message "WELCOME" is displayed on the front panel display. • The tray will close and the set will go in Standby mode. SOLUTION Mettre le firmware a jour a la version 1.07 comme explique ci-apres. • Appuyer sur [EJECT] et inserer le disque de mise a jour. • Fermer le plateau et attendre jusqu'a ce que le chargement se termine. Le temps s'affiche sur le panneau avant et une fenetre de mise a jour apparait sur l'ecran du moniteur. • Selectionner "Yes" en appuyant sur le bouton [ENTER] de la telecommande. • Environ 10 sec. plus tard, le message "Verup start" apparait sur le panneau avant et la mise a jour demarre. Le proces complet dure environ 10 min. • La mise a jour terminee, le message "Finish!!" apparait sur le panneau avant et le disque est automatiquement ejecte. Enlever le disque du plateau. • Appuyer environ 10 sec. sur le bouton [POWER] du panneau avant jusqu'a l'apparition du message "WELCOME" sur le panneau avant. • Le plateau ferme et l'appareil va en mode de veille. ************************************************************************
